Bloomsburg University Loses to Millersville

MILLERSVILLE--The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team lost to Millersville University on Wednesday by a score of 68-56.

The Huskies (5-11, 1-1 PSAC East), playing with just six players due to injury, held an early lead in the game and trailed by just one, 9-8, after a three-pointer by Gabe Miskinis (Lewistown/Lewistown) with 13:01 to play in the first half. Millersville (9-7, 1-1 PSAC East), though, used a 10-2 run to take a 19-10 lead with 6:30 left in the opening half and eventually pushed the lead to 17 points at halftime.

Millersville opened the second half of play with a 14-3 run and put the game out of reach for the Huskies. Bloomsburg did continue to battle and outscored the Marauders 11-2 over the final two minutes of play to get back to within 12 points.

Miskinis scored a team-high 16 points for the Huskies, while Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) added 15 points with Kelly Joyce (Ashland/Cardinal Brennan) scoring 12.

Millersville got 18 points from Kristin Kunzman and 16 from Cari Cover in the win.

Bloomsburg is at Kutztown on Saturday at 1 p.m.
